It's been a busy few months at BodyGuards since we have taken over and your patience and encouragement through these early months has been much appreciated.
Our aim is to us our experience, enthusiasm and new ideas to build on the already high reputation of the service that we offer to our clients here at BodyGuards and provide private quality personal training through our highly qualified and experienced trainers. We can train you at home, in your office or at our newly refurbished private gym which is now equipped with top quality functional equipment that allows us to train everyone, whether you are an elite athlete or just needing help to get back to fitness and an improved lifestyle.

What's been happening
Redecoration
You may have noticed the redecoration of the gym, complete with 'ipod' style imagery, designed and painted by local artists. Together with the new layout and the new high quality functional equipment, we hope you agree, we have enhanced the atmosphere in the gym.
We will also be brightening up the changing room facilities in the near future
Website
The website has been undergoing some changes to make it more user friendly and we would like to encourage clients to log on to the site to keep up to date with fitness issues and events that are happening at the gym.
Nutrition and Lifestyle
In addition to the website, do take a look at the nutrition and lifestyle board that is displayed on the gym wall. We hope it will provide you with helpful and up to date information on relevant nutritional issues, giving ideas on how to implement these lifestyle changes. If you need more information about nutrition and lifestyle choices, please ask your trainer.
Massage
Sports massage can benefit anyone taking part in sports or exercise. It deals with the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of the soft tissues of the body such as muscles, ligaments and tendons and has many benefits…

Regardless of whether you exercise or play sport to keep fit, or compete at club or international level, sports massage may have something to offer you. At BodyGuards we have a private treatment room and our own fully qualified massage therapists who have built a sound reputation as some of the best in the area, so if you would like to make a booking please contact the gym.
What's On
Group Session
Why not complement your one to one training with a group session…
The BodyGuards running club is on Wednesday evenings at 6pm. We are now getting a good turn out of mixed abilities. Running with others helps you go that extra distance and with a trainer to add variety such as measured hill sprints you will soon notice an improvement in your running ability.
You can also take advantage of the circuit class on Tuesday evenings at 8pm. This is another great way to complement your personal training, providing a fun, safe and effective means of increasing your cardio vascular fitness, core stability, flexibility and general fitness.
So come along and give it a try…
- Running Club – Wednesday 6-7 pm
- Circuit Training – Tuesday 8-9 pm
Social Events
Some clients have expressed an interest in taking part in BodyGuards events outside the gym so we are exploring the possibility of a go-karting trip. If you are interested please have a word with any of the trainers and get signed up. Dates will be organised when we know what the uptake is.
We are also looking at the possibility of organising a charity “Coast to Coast” bike event across 3 days, so again, please let us know if you are interested as this is number dependant.
Questionnaires
Thank you to all those who replied to the recent client questionnaire. Your views and comments were much appreciated. There were some helpful ideas and we hope to implement as many as possible in the future.
