Dear Duncan
I have been with Bodyguards for a little over a year now, and I thought I would write to say how delighted I am with the progress I am making, and with your guidance and training.
When I arrived at Bodyguards, working initially with Gemma (who I am also very grateful to), it would be fair to say that I was extremely unfit and with an expanding waistline. The initial assessments I went through also showed that I had very poor posture and hardly any endurance in cardio-vascular exercise.
One of my reasons for choosing to come to a personal trainer rather than enrolling in one of my local run-of-the-mill gyms was that I knew that without expert supervision I could have ended up doing myself more harm than good. From the outset at Bodyguards, I knew that I had made the right decision: the concentration, for my first few months, on strengthening my core muscles and addressing my posture were not things I would have done otherwise but they have absolutely been the key to my progressing on to starting to,build up my strength and my cardio-vascular stamina.
To be honest, the contrast from what I was like back then to what I am achieving now is quite significant. I am under no illusions that I still have quite a long way to go, and that this is all about getting into a life-long habit of training and exercise, but I feel confident that given time and your direction I will be well on the way to achieving this goal.
I feel noticeably healthier within myself, especially after a good work-out at the gym. Sometimes I am cursing you for pushing me but I am glad that you do!
I also want to add that I really appreciate the fact that you take the time to explain the physiology of the exercises we are doing, and that we have the opportunity to discuss things like nutrition and other contributors to well-being.
With best wishes, Nils Chittenden
